An oily film scabbed over a pockmarked stretch of asphalt, congealing pools of acidic rainwater into a grease-streaked mirror of the Togh Keyoh skyline. Neon lights flashed crude logos across the reflection, smudged out by moving shapes recognizable as people only by the cold, metallic glint of their cybernetic body mods. They trudged along under the all-recording eye of a surveillance myrios, ducking down dim alleys to escape the onslaught of advertisements.
But even in the dark, the cacophony of synthesized voices hawked on.
