A Message from the Producer—English Edition’s Second Anniversary

Hello, everyone! I’m Yuito Kimura, the producer of Shadowverse: Evolve. June 30th is almost here, marking the game’s second anniversary. I’m sincerely grateful to all of you for your continued support. Thank you!

Now, getting right into things, I’d like to share my thoughts on the game’s evolution so far.

Second Anniversary

From local store tournaments to the second World Invitational, the passion of the Shadowverse: Evolve community has continued to burn bright worldwide. We at Cygames, along with our friends at Bushiroad, are committed to ensuring that each new year of the game is more fun than the last.

On that note, the recent English editions of BP10, SS01, and SS02 come with codes that you can enter into the newly released Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond for bonus in-game items. We plan to continue providing this kind of linked content between games so that you can enjoy Shadowverse both in the real world and the digital world.

English-Edition Exclusives

After a proposal from Bushiroad—who are well-versed in the global card game scene—we implemented a number of English-edition exclusives over the last year. There were the limited-edition card sleeves of popular characters included with each box of BP07 boosters, as well as the Special-rarity version of Mysteria, Magic Founder in BP08. And of course, we can’t forget the English edition’s very first vote campaign to decide the exclusive English BP09 Special-rarity cards.

We’ve been overjoyed to see the positive reception to these exclusives from the community. Just between you and me, I hear Bushiroad has much more in store for the English edition, so please look forward to it. One such example, which should already have been announced by the time this message goes out, are the bonus playmats that come with each carton of Seaside Memories, the English edition’s very first special set.

New Formats

With the release of the new Gloryfinder starter decks next month, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the new formats we’ve introduced over the past year.

Aside from the regular Constructed format, we’ve strived to ensure that there are many different ways to enjoy Shadowverse: Evolve. Gloryfinder, which was developed for the English edition, Cross Craft, and Sealed are all examples of this. We at the Shadowverse: Evolve team hope that providing the community with different avenues of play can create new bonds between players, give them the opportunity to try new deck recipes that break the constraints of constructed, and ensure a fresh, fun Shadowverse: Evolve experience for many years to come.

Gloryfinder in particular, as a 4-player casual format, is excellent for some laid-back fun with your friends. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend bringing it up with your playgroup and giving it a shot!

Lastly, if you happen to have any fun, homebrewed formats of your own, please share them on social media and put them out into the world. The magic of physical card games is that how you play with them is limited only by your imagination.

Competitive Circuit

Working together with Bushiroad, we’ve been able to hold a variety of tournaments and events all across the world, including the currently running Bushiroad Summer Fest 2025, as well as next week’s Grand Showdowns.

Tournaments and events such as these are vital for players, both for testing their skills and for building a community. As such, we’re working hard with Bushiroad to improve prize support, with exclusive artwork promo cards at Bushiroad Summer Fest 2025 and the Grand Showdown exclusive supply set being only the beginning. There are many more events and prizes to come, so please keep an eye out for announcements and join in on the fun.

In Conclusion

On behalf of the Shadowverse: Evolve team, I would once again like to express my gratitude to you all for enjoying our games. It’s thanks to you that we’ve been able to reach this second-anniversary milestone, as well as launch the new Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.

The Shadowverse IP is only going to continue reaching for greater heights over the next year—one might even say it’s going to super-evolve—so it is with utmost sincerity that I hope you continue to give us your support.

Thank you.
